S’mores Crunch Jif Hazelnut Spread Brownies & A Jif Giveaway

A few weeks ago while shopping at Target, something new caught my eye…

Well, hello there handsome, have we met?   The makers of Jif recently launched two delicious new hazelnut spreads – Jif Chocolate Flavored Hazelnut Spread & Jif Mocha Cappuccino Flavored Hazelnut Spread.   Both varieties offer a new way to make anything sweeter.

And for this great new product, they have some fabulous recipe suggestions, such as Chocolate Hazelnut Banana Stuffed French Toast, Brownie Cupcakes With Hazelnut Buttercream & Chocolate Hazelnut Snickerdoodle Cookies.  I’ll take one of each please!

When Jif offered to send out a Jif Hazelnut Tasting Kit for me, along with a giveaway kit for one of my readers, I was totally on board.   Truth be told I have never tasted a hazelnut spread until now (because I live under a giant rock in the dessert apparently).   Thank you Jif for bringing such wonderfulness into my life!   And I’m so excited to share a kit just like this one with one of you!

The Jif Hazelnut Spread Tasting Kit includes…

Jif Hazelnut Spread Tasting Kit (ARV $100):
·         Jif Chocolate Flavored Hazelnut Spread
·         Jif Mocha Cappuccino Flavored Hazelnut Spread
·         Homemade Marshmallows
·         Graham Crackers
·         Pillsbury Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
·         Folgers Black Silk Coffee
·         Silver Spoon
·         Recipes and Tips
·         $50 AMEX Gift Card

What could you use your Jif Hazelnut Spread for?  May I suggest some S’mores Crunch Jif Hazelnut Brownies…

These are an awesome blend of crunchy, gooey, sweet and a tiny bit of salty.  Good stuff.    They are based off of a recipe from Brown Eyed Baker for Marshmallow Crunch Brownie Bars with a couple of variations.   I used the brownie mix that came with my Jif Hazelnut Spread Tasting Kit, but you could use any mix or favorite recipe.  You’ll want to bake up your 9×13″ pan of  brownies, and while they are baking get the rest of the recipe ready.

To top your brownies you will need…

  • 1 bag (10 1/2 ounces) mini marshmallows (I was out of minis and used large ones, they worked out just fine)
  • 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips (milk or semi-sweet)
  • 1 cup Jif Chocolate Flavored Hazelnut Spread
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (I used one “sleeve” of graham crackers, which might have been a bit shy of 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 cup Kraft Mallow Bits (optional, but give a great added crunch!)

Bake your brownies according to the recipe or mix directions, but take them out 2-3 minutes early.   After taking them out, top with your mini marshmallows and immediately return to the oven for three more minutes.

While the marshmallow topped brownies are in the oven, you will want to mix up your yummy topping.   Combine your chocolate chips, Jif Chocolate Flavored Hazelnut Spread and butter in a medium size sauce pan.  Melt over low heat, stirring constantly.   Once melted, remove from heat and add in your crushed graham crackers.  Allow to cool for three minutes.

Spread your mixture over your marshmallow layer.  Sprinkle with Mallow Bits.   Refrigerate to allow chocolate to set prior to cutting.  SO good!   Let’s go through this with pictures…

(FYI – you could stop RIGHT here and just eat that chocolate chip, Jif Chocolate Flavored Hazelnut Spread & graham cracker mixture with a spoon.  I actually highly advise that you do, at least for a moment or two.  Now, carry on…)

Chocolatey hazelnut goodness in a pan (or on a spoon, it’s totally your call).

Now, would you like to win the Jif Hazelnut Spread Tasting Kit?  Of course you would!

Ready?  Use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter to win and tell me how you would use your Jif Hazelnut Spreads.  Would you use them to top your toast or waffles?  As a tasty addition to your coffee or milkshake?  Or in a delicious dessert?  And of course, simply enjoying by the spoonful is completely acceptable.     You can have up to seven chances to win!   PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ENTER THROUGH THE RAFFLECOPTER WIDGET, JUST LEAVING A COMMENT WITHOUT USING RAFFLECOPTER WILL NOT GET YOUR ENTRY INTO THE DRAWING.  Open to U.S. Residents Only (I know, I know, I’m sorry Canada, we will find a giveaway for you soon!).
