Ingredients

  • 1 32 oz. package frozen french fries
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 2 15 oz cans chili beans (between 22-30oz chili beans works fine)
  • 1/3 cup green chile enchilada sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp buffalo sauce (hot or mild, depending on taste)
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded (other cheeses can be used as well)
  • Green onions, sliced (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven according to french fries package directions. Place french fries on baking sheet and prepare as directed on the package.
  • Brown meat in a medium saucepan, then mix in the green chile sauce, chili powder, buffalo hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder and stir on low for just a couple of minutes.
  • Once the fries are finished cooking, spread chili mixture evenly over fries and sprinkle a layer cheese on top.
  • Cook in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for another 5-7 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Plate and serve with sliced green onions as a garnish, optional.

Notes

Note:  Depending on the recommended oven temperature on the package of fries, you might need to change the oven temperature after the fries are done in order to heat up the chili and cheese properly.
