Hard boiled eggs are halved, and filled with a creamy, zesty filling made with the firm egg yolks. You know if these easy Deviled Eggs are on the menu, everyone is happy!
Start by bringing a large pot of water to a boil. Leave some empty space in the pot, but enough water to cover the eggs fully. Add room temperature eggs to the boiling water and boil for 12 minutes. Remove the eggs from the boiling water, and immediately add it to an ice bath. Let them cool for 5-10 minutes.
Once completely cooled, peel the eggs and slice them into halves going lengthwise. Remove the egg yolks from the egg whites and add the egg yolks to a medium sized mixing bowl.
To the mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper. Mash the ingredients together with a fork until smooth and creamy.
Add the filling to a piping bag or a ziploc baggie with the corner snipped off. Pipe the filling into the hole of the egg whites until the filling is gone. Place the deviled eggs into the refrigerator and allow them to cool for at least 30 minutes. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
Make sure that the eggs are at room temperature before adding them to the boiling water. When you add cold eggs to boiling water, they have the tendency to explode. You can bring the eggs to room temperature quickly by placing them in a bowl of lukewarm water for 5-10 minutes before adding them to the boiling water.
