Easy Rum Cake

This delicious and easy rum cake starts with a standard cake mix, but the results are spectacular!

  • 1 standard size package yellow cake mix do not use pudding in the mix varieites if possible
  • 1 small package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1/2 cup spiced rum
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs


  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup spiced rum



  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Prepare Bundt pan and non-stick cooking spray.
  • Mix all ingredients for 2 ore more minutes, until smooth.
  • Next pour batter into prepared Bundt pan and bake for approximately 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Leave cake in pan.


  • Bring all ingredients to a boil in a medium pan for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Pour glaze mixture over hot cake while it is still in the Bundt pan.
  • Let stand in pan for 1⁄2 hour, then turn out onto a wire cooling rack to finish cooling.
