Prep: 10 minutes
Total: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter
  • 15 ounces miniature marshmallows, divided (reserve 1 cup of marshmallows )
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
  • 9 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal

Instructions

  • Butter or lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan, or line the pan with parchment paper.

Stovetop Instructions

  • On stovetop: Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows, reserving 1 cup of marshmallows for later, and stir to coat well. Continue stirring until all of the marshmallows are melted, then remove from heat.

Microwave Instructions

  • In microwave: In a large mixing bowl melt the marshmallows with the butter by heating for 1 minute on high heat. Continue heating in 30-second increments, stirring between heating, until the marshmallows are fully melted.

Remaining Instructions For Either Method

  • Stir in vanilla and salt, then add the Fruity Pebbles cereal and the remaining 1 cup of marshmallows. Carefully stir the ingredients together until all of the cereal is coated with the melted marshmallow.
  • Transfer the cereal mixture to prepared pan, then using a buttered spatula, gently press the Fruity Pebbles mixture into an even layer. Do not over-compact or treats will come out flat. Set the treats out and let them cool for at least an hour before slicing and serving.
