Sweet, savory and packed full of flavor, Huli Huli Sauce can take your chicken to the next level! Use as a marinade, to baste or as a sauce to serve!

Ingredients
 

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark, packed)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (regular or low sodium)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth (regular or low sodium )
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger root (minced or grated, frozen can be used)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, whisk the brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, and chicken broth. Next, combine the minced ginger root, garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  • Sauce can be used as a marinade, can be used to baste chicken or you can use it as a sauce. If using as a marinade DO NOT reuse the marinade sauce. Any sauce that has touched raw chicken should be disposed of after marinating to avoid the risk of food borne illness .

Notes

Storage: Store tightly covered in refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Do Not Reuse Marinade: If you use your Huli Huli Sauce as a marinade, once you pull the chicken out, you need to dispose of the remaining Huli Huli Sauce to avoid the risk of food borne illness from raw chicken.
