Elf Dessert Dip

For our family, watching the movie Elf is a Christmas Tradition. It’s one of those movies that has humor to keep both the kids and parents laughing through the whole thing – I mean come on – Will Ferrell! I would be sitting on a throne of lies if I didn’t admit to using many of the stellar one liners from the movie, year round.

This easy Elf Dessert Dip is the perfect treat to serve when your family watches Elf. While I never seem to pull together those Pinterest worthy themed holiday movie nights, this is EASY peasy. It’s one of those recipes you can quickly throw together while chatting in the kitchen, or while watching the movie yourself.

Ingredients

  • Cream cheese – You can use a regular (my choice) or a reduced fat version, but make sure that you are using the kind that comes in the brick, not the tub. Also, it’s very important to make sure it’s softened, as this will prevent lumps when mixing.
  • Marshmallow fluff – You can find this in most grocery stores. If you’ve never seen it, this is what you are looking for.
  • Powdered sugar – Also called confectioners sugar, there is no need to sift… unless yours is full of lumps.
  • Maple syrup – Pure maple syrup is recommended.
  • Mini marshmallows – For fun you could use colored mini marshmallows if your store carries them.
  • Red & green sprinkles – I recommend using jimmies or quins. They hold their color a bit better than nonpareils, which can run and discolor the dip.
  • Chow Mein Noodles – These are optional, but are fun for serving. They give a bit of the spaghetti feel from Elf the movie.
  • Mini Chocolate Chips – Also optional, but great for presentation when serving.
