How To Assemble the Candy Skewers

  1. Start by sliding one White Nonpareils Coated Gummy Candy onto the skewer. Stop 2 inches from the bottom of the skewer.
  2. Add two more candies of your choosing to the skewer. Then, fold a Sour Belt back and forth on top of itself like an accordion. Slide the accordion sour belt onto the skewer, leaving 1 inch off. Roll the remaining inch into a spiral and slide the skewer up through the center and pull it down.

Tips And Advice

Storage – I recommend assembling this board right before you serve it to your guests. The longer some of the ingredients sit out the harder they’ll get. While I don’t recommend saving it, you could cover the leftovers with plastic wrap and store it in the fridge for up to a day if you’d like.

Equipment

Here is what you’ll need to assemble your Little Mermaid Snack Board.

You can decorate your Large Clamshell Serving board with some food-safe acrylic paint. Just let the paint dry completely before placing any food on top of it.

Board Assembly Tips

Before you assemble, place the board where you are planning on serving it. It may be difficult to move once assembled.

Using small bowls or ramequins to place some ingredients in adds height to the board, and keeps it looking clean. It can also act as a barrier to keep some ingredients from rolling off the board.

To make your board look visually appealing, try to keep the heavier items on the outside of the board so the looser, lighter items in the middle don’t roll around. Also, do your best to keep the same colors, or similar foods away from each other. For example, don’t place pink candy next to another kind of pink candy, and don’t place gummies next to similar looking gummies.

Under The Sea Candy Skewers

  • Add two more ingredients of your choice to the skewer.

  • Fill in sections of your board with the rest of the ingredients and enjoy!

Notes

When assembling your board:
  • Make sure to set the board in the place you are planning to serve it. It’s likely that you will not be able to pick it up or move it once everything has been added!
  • It’s good practice to use small bowls or ramequins as anchor points! They serve as containers for ingredients that tend to roll, barriers for other ingredients to lean against, and visual resting points!
  • Place large or heavy desserts around the border of your board to act as another barrier for other ingredients to rest against!
